Why Jews should support the Catholic Church's fight with Obama

Spengler explains why Jews - especially Orthodox Jews - should be backing the Catholic Church in its fight with the Obama administration over having to provide abortions and birth control. (Yes, I know, this is off topic).
Today it is contraception and the morning-after pill. Tomorrow it will be kosher slaughter, or matrilineal descent, or circumcision, or other matters of existential importance to Jewish observance. If the Obama administration gets away with forcing Catholic institutions to step across lines of life and death in the name of “health,” the federal government will have a precedent to legislate Judaism out of existence–as several other countries have already tried to do.

Now the Obama administration has told Catholic institutions that they don’t have to dispense pills that kill babies. Instead, they can pay the insurance company, and the insurance company will dispense the pill for them. It is an accounting trick (as Paul Ryan called it) that the White House misrepresents as a compromise. The Catholic Bishops, of course, reject it. And only one Jewish organization, the haredi organization Agudath Israel, offered a sharp response. Its Washington director Abba Cohen stated:
Whether or not the White House’s new ‘compromise’ proposal adequately addresses the religious freedom concerns raised by the Catholic Church is for the Catholic Church to say, not us – and, frankly, not the White House, either. The important points here are that no religiously sponsored entity, and no religiously motivated individual, should be forced by government to violate its or his sincerely held religious principles; and that the determination of religious propriety must be left to the religious entity or individual, not to the government.
The Orthodox Union, according to press accounts, guardedly praised the “compromise,” saying: “The president’s stated commitment is a positive first step forward, the details of implementation are crucial and we look forward to working with the administration to see that through.” As a late-in-life returnee to Jewish observance, I habitually defer to the Orthodox Union leadership in such matters. Having had the misfortune to have spent half my life among the atheists and religion-haters, though, I know how embittered and unrelenting are the supposed disciples of science. They are in fact religious fanatics of the worst kind. You can’t make a deal with them. After they come for the Catholics, they will come for us. They already are coming for us all over the world.
Read the whole thing. And yes, I agree with him.

Spengler is a hypocritical liar.

They won't come for the 'Jewish religion' for obvious reasons, the stun ban in Holland was overturned. Jewish religious observances usually have another religion's religious leaders willing to do the dirty work for them if anyone wants to outlaw, it will affect them too, thus they know they will fight it. Spengler is cretin if he does not know that. It won't happen.

The problem with this abortion thing is not that it's an attack on Catholicism. If they confined it to their own religion members, and by choice, then it would not be a problem. The problem here is that they seek to impose it on others, and that is unacceptable.

There was a girl in Ireland (Catholic Ireland) who became pregnant by rape, she was 14. She could not have an abortion in Ireland because it is illegal. Her parents had to bring her to England. This is outrageous. Religion and religious practices are by choice. Not by force. They cannot be imposed.

Spengler creates a straw man. He is a stupid ignoramus aside from being a blind bigot. I hope he is reading this, and if you are I dare you to respond to this, David Goldman.

And you are an uninformed fool. This issue is EXACTLY about govt intrusion into religious policy.

If Ireland had NOT ALLOWED THE GIRL to leave then your ridiulous argument might have held weight.

Don't want to abide by a religion's tenets? LEAVE THE RELIGION, or don't work for them.

This "mandate" is about govt intrusion and control where the CONSTITUTION ALREADY SAYS THERE MAY BE NONE.

You can bet that regulating kashrus, as well as mandatory hiring of jihadis and transvestites in yeshivot is the next step.

Jewpoint, are you stupid or what?

You have twisted it around to make it look like the opposite is happening to what the reality it.

if abortion is forced to be a sin by one religion and imposed on OTHERS AS SYCG WHO DO NOT BELIEVE IT IS A SIN, how can they leave that religion when they are not Catholic or Christian? That is your first convulation,

Your second convulation is this:

You can bet that regulating kashrus, as well as mandatory hiring of jihadis and transvestites in yeshivot is the next step.

I don't recall any Rabbi insisting that all eat Kashrut, so there wold be no need for inteference at state level. If any Rabbi did that, you can bet, there would be state intrusion. It would be unnaccepable to impose it on others who do not believe in those laws.

Hey everyone, look at Jewpoints's hypocricy. Note his ignorance or double standard, or maybe he really is stupid? He said:

If Ireland had NOT ALLOWED THE GIRL to leave then your ridiulous argument might have held weight.,

Well then we can use the same argument for kashrus. Since the USA won't stop anyone from leaving the USA to get kashrus, IT SHOULD BE REGULATED THEN.

Jewpoint, why are you saying it is OK for Ireland to impose their no abortion ban at state level, including on those who do not want to follow it, yet cry about kashrus being the next to be intefered with? The same line can be used for your other equally stupid analysis, namely, that anyone who does not want to be taught by a transvestite in a yeshivot should get an education out of the USA since the USA is not stopping them from leaving thus Jewpoints argument doesn't hold.

If Jewpoint thinks it is OK for Ireland to impose a non abortion ban at state level and allow anyoen to leave to have the abortion in another country, why does Jewpoint think that the USA should not intefere in kashrus laws and tell anyone who wants to buy kosher to leave the USA for maybe Mexico or the Carribean where they can buy kosher then return?

Oh and a jihadi wouldn't want to be hired in a yeshivot, so don't worry there.

Jewpoint the fascist supports a state imposing their religious beliefs on those that do not believe in it,

It'll be a cold day in hell before you fascists get to impose your beliefs on the civil world.
