Iran threatens preemptive action

Iran is threatening preemptive action to protect its nuclear weapons program.
Iran warned Tuesday it would strike against an "enemy" threatening it if needed to protect its national interests -- even if the enemy didn't attack first.

Gen. Mohammad Hejazi, a deputy head of Iran's armed forces, said his country "will no more wait to see enemy action against us," according to the semi-official Fars News Agency.

"Given this strategy, we will make use of all our means to protect our national interests and hit a retaliatory blow at them whenever we feel that enemies want to endanger our national interests," Hejazi said.
What could go wrong?

Notice the headline. Israel is attacking and not taking preemptive action - Iran is taking preventive action to protect itself.

It won't be Iran doing the fighting but their proxies Hezbollah and Hamas.

Iran won't risk being attacked directly.

Nasrallah though gave a speech & said the Hezzies may not play this role--by way of assuring his audience that Iran would not ask them to be their proxy against Israel-even if Israel attacked.

As Iran and the Sovie..Russian pony up to bomb the bejazus out of Syria's Hama's Syria folks may be doing some recalculating.

“Some are wondering what would happen if Israel bombed Iran’s nuclear facilities, and although I rule out this possibility I assure you that the Iranian leadership will not ask Hezbollah to do anything.

“On that day, we have to sit down and think before we decide what to do,” Nasrallah said.
