Could I be fined for publishing this picture?
If Haaretz's description of a new law that is pending in the Knesset is accurate, I could soon be subject to fines and imprisonment for publishing pictures like the one above on this blog (Hat Tip: The Lede). The bill prohibits the use of all forms of the word “Nazi” or similar-sounding words; epithets associated with Nazism, the Third Reich or any of its leaders; the wearing of striped clothing resembling that worn by prisoners in World War II-era concentration camps and yellow stars like the ones Jews were forced to wear during the Holocaust or other similar symbols.Well, sorry folks, but I'm with the Left on this. People ought to be able to say whatever they please in a democracy short of yelling "fire" in a crowded building and the like.
It would also ban all photographs, drawings, sculptures and the like depicting a swastika or anything else that makes a definitive reference to Nazism.

Carl,
Just a note to say that I agree with you here!
Why is it, when a year or so ago there was a spate of real nazi activity in Israel, instigated by (possibly) some Russian skin heads who had got into Israel by pretending to be Jewish, that the government did not do this, but when Jews use the symbols it is intolerable?? Seems like Bibi's gov. have imbibed some of Obama's back to front Kool Aid!!
