Obama letting Turkey walk all over him

In an earlier post, I noted that the Obama administration has agreed to sell SuperCobra helicopters to Turkey to replace helicopters that were shot down by Kurdish rebels over Iraq, and Predator drones to help Turkey in its fight with the PKK. Michael Rubin reports that by doing so, Obama is refusing to take advantage of strategic leverage it has against Turkey, which could at least be used to ameliorate the Islamist state's behavior. In particular, Rubin notes that the helicopters could be turned against Cyprus or Israel. He also reports that the Obama administration is pushing to supply Turkey with the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter without so much as a report to Congress. This is from the second link.
The United States and Turkey will share military relations so long as Turkey remains a NATO member. However, maintenance of military relations does not mean the United States should supply Turkey with weaponry it might share with Iran or use against American allies. Turkey’s change is ideological; it is not a country the United States can co-opt. It’s time for Congress to tell the White House: enough is enough. No more cutting edge weaponry for Turkey.
Indeed, it is. Let's hope House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairwoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fl) is listening.

Commentary's twittefeed says:

Why is Obama Rewarding Turkey with Attack Helicopters?

I wonder whether they read each other. Because if you put the story together, then Obama's posse has Turkey provoking an incident so that Susan Rice can initiate a "responsibility to protect" attack on Israel from NATO and the UN. These people really really need to be voted out. And if they are breaking U.S. laws, they need to be stopped and put on trial. (BTW, they also are buying and selling guns in the U.S. and Mexico so that the drug cartels get them. Hundreds and thousands dead. In Mexico and in the U.S. Does that make them accessories??)

That's just the half of it. Obama Defense Secretary Panetta warns Israel: that's a nice country you have there; it would be a pity if something should happen to it because you weren't nice enough to the Palestinians and Turkey and found yourself "isolated".

President Obama, solidly behind Israel 100% so that he can calculate the precise angle to kick her under the bus:

Obama asks Bibi: look II can't feed you piece by piece to your enemies because of the election, how about you go out and tell your buddies the Zionists what a great pal I am?

Bibi: sure!!!!
