Final approval given for 930 apartments in Har Homa

Israel Radio reports that final approval has been given for the construction of 930 new apartments in Har Homa. Har Homa is a neighborhood in southern Jerusalem, which is beyond the terminus of Jewish sovereignty that was demarcated by the 1949 armistice lines. It is one of two Jewish neighborhoods that was built in Jerusalem in the last 20 years that has 'popularly priced' apartments. The land and building rights may now be sold to contractors.

Condemnation coming from the EU and the Obama State Department in 3... 2... 1....

All this is happening just in the nick of time. In Tel Aviv, a group of Leftists has been arrested for attempting to set fire to a tent belonging to Rightists in the Rothschild Boulevard tent encampment according to Israel Radio. With the Leftists so eager to make more people homeless, the government's determination to provide more housing for Jews is welcome.

If the Israeli government stopped arbitrarily managing housing decisions for blatantly political reasons and turned them over to the free market, Israel's housing crisis would quickly vanish. Doing that won't make the UN or the State Department happy. But it will make Israel's voters happy.
