Israel becoming the new petro state?
The old energy order in the Middle East is crumbling, with Iran and Syria having left the Western fold and others, including Saudi Arabia, the largest of them all, in danger of doing so. Simultaneously, a new energy order is emerging to give the West some spine. In this new order, Israel is a major player. The new energy order is founded on rock -the shale that traps vast stores of energy in deposits around the world. One of the largest deposits -250 billion barrels of oil in Israel's Shfela basin, comparable to Saudi Arabia's entire reserves of 260 billion barrels of oil -has until now been unexploited, partly because the technology required has been expensive, mostly because the multinational oil companies that have the technology fear offending Muslims.
I discussed the Israeli technology that's discussed in the video below here.
Let's go to the videotape (Hat Tip: Shy Guy).
Heh.

Strange, the interviewer can't help himself from asking whether the Israeli find will be another injustice to "Palestine".
I blogged about something similar to this quite some time ago, here: http://anneinpt.wordpress.com/2011/05/14/israels-natural-gas-finds-a-game-changer/
It's all so exciting! @5:20 or so, Mr. Solomon talks about Israel upgrading the technology for the shale and transferring to the Euros. It won't end the Euros' anti-Jew mental sickness, but it could conceiveably keep them from being held hostage by the OPEC people. There's a similar shale area in West Texas, which they are starting to work... and it will certainly keep Texas out from under the boot of President Obama on their neck. Surely, he will use the EPA to try to club them out of getting that oil and gas.

Offending Muslims? Where did this come from? Which multi national said this?
The reason shale hasn't been exploited, is simply because the technology wasn't available. It costs more to bring it out of the ground than it's worth. That's the only reason. Why would Muslims be offended?
Jordan is just one Muslim country which has an abundance of shale.
If it can be economically exploited, Israel would not only become energy independent but become a major oil exporter.
And this would have a salutary effect on Israeli relations with Europe. For Europe having a stable oil supply would rapidly diminish anti-Semitism and pro-Arab views as there would no longer be a need to please the Arab World.
Whether Israel can develop it is an open question but I think in view of the upheavals in the Middle East, Israel no longer has the luxury of putting off exploration of its vast oil shale reserve.

even if Europe got all her oil from Israel it would not change her stance towards the Middle East one iota.
European attitudes towards the Middle East conflict are NOT dictated by oil. There is a genuine attachment to their former colonies, in the case of the British, for example, Islamophila has a lot to do with "Laurence of Arabia" syndrome.
