Carl - I'm sure you heard Prime Minister Netanyahu's speech to the opening of the Knesset's summer session.

He made several points: the Palestinians must recognize Israel as a Jewish State, Israel must retain the Jordan Valley and a united Jerusalem, Israel will keep the settlement blocs and the Palestinians must end all claims upon Israel and there must be real peace.

But you and I know the Palestinians have already rejected a peace based on those principles and there is not going to be peace in our own lifetime.

Its important to point out Netanyahu did not use the words "1967" in his address and he pointed out Israel does not have a peace partner today.

It was a good speech but the things he talked about will never happen because today as throughout their entire history the Palestinians have refused to compromise in the slightest way for peace.

The bottom line is don't look for Israel to make any dramatic concessions in the foreseeable future.
