Video of US Navy Seal operation that killed Bin Laden in Abbottabad, Pakistan; UPDATED
I cannot vouch for the authenticity of this video, but it looks real. It claims to be about two minutes of the 40-minute gun battle in which US Navy Seals killed Osama Bin Laden. At the end, you will see another picture of the dead body.Let's go to the videotape.
UPDATE 9:39 PM
This post has gotten thousands of hits today. It has also gotten comments from some vocal cynics - both on the blog and on Twitter - questioning its authenticity (which I said at the outset that I had no way of verifying). One commenter was so dismissive as to say that I should take it down. Well, as many of you know already, I don't take posts down (although I may revise them to remove content over which I am threatened).
The main objection has been along the lines of "this operation used helicopters, not humvees, so this video could not possibly have come from this operation."
The following came from a retired officer in the US Armed Forces (I won't say anymore about this person's identity).
CH-47 Chinook helicopters carry humvees into mission zones. The SEALs use specially outfitted Chinooks, so there would be nothing odd here. I understood it was a 4-helo assault group, with one suffering a mechanical breakdown.Hmmm.

Just a random assault - nothng to do with Bin Laden geting killed - you just want view on your video - you kow it's nothing to do with Bin Laden - Why are their Humvees there - it was a few teams dropped by helicopter - no running battle across the streets, no anti aircraft fire and no fake picture of Bin Laden - that picture has already done the rounds previously - get a life.
bad fake
picture at the end is 4 years old
and navy seals were not driving Humvee's randomly shooting up and down a street this was a targeted operation
BS as are you.
Carl. Looks like a fake for all the resons. Helicopters were used. There are humvees. Not a SEAL op.
Take it down.
are you retarded
From what I have managed to read, it seems that this picture was really really badly faked by a middle eastern journalist...for the very purpose of being discovered as a 'fake' and feeding conspiracy theories.
Like, that Osama's death was faked.
The bottom half is taken from a 'Osama-promo' picture - so it would be immediately recognizable to Muslim audiences. As in - Muslims in the Middle East, looking at it, would recognize it is a very badly done fake right away!
The top half is also from a very, very well known and widely circulated photo.
Which makes the picture rather interesting...
For different reasons, but interesting nonetheless!
As someone said earlier, this must not be the operation of US Navy Seals going in to kill Bin Laden because of the use of humvees instead of the chinook helicopters. Also, I noticed some AA fire exactly 1 minute into the video.
Though entertaining as it is, this video is most likely of Operation Desert Storm or some other operation that involved airborne and calvary divisions.
Im retired Army Special Operations, 20 yrs. Bosnia-1996 Iraq-2004-2005. I love the USA, but if you think for one minute that "Bin Laden" was alive for 10 yrs. in Afgan/Pakistan, PLEASE wake up! Seal Team 6????? I worked with guys from teams 1-5, funny how NONE of the Guys know ANY seals on Team 6! DO YOUR RESEARCH PEOPLE!!!! We are getting taken, DAMN Bin Laden, what about the $6 a Gallon Gas, Who is making all this moneY!!!!!!
i guess that this operation is old and in iraq because of many arbic words in iraqi dialect during the fight ,who can arabic talking can recognise that easily at the moment 1.10 ,,,,he said ,,ERMI ,, that means ,,,FIRE,
