Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Memorial Day) vigil

Yom Hashoah Mobilization Committee

PRESS RELEASE

April 11, 2011

A Yom Hashoah vigil is scheduled for Sunday, May 1st at 12:00 P.M. in front of the Iranian Mission to the United Nations on Third Avenue and 40th Street (622 Third Ave.)

Members of the Jewish community are expecting to gather to commemorate the millions of innocents who perished in the Holocaust and to remind the public and our elected representatives of the imminent danger to the world community posed by the spreading of Iran’s anti-Semitic rhetoric and its nuclear program.

This generation is currently witnessing the dehumanization of the Jewish people by some Arab media and the demonization of Israel, the reputation of which has been a victim of libel and defamation. Painfully reminiscent of what happened before the extermination of 6,000,000 Jewish people, it seems that history is repeating itself.

We cannot remain silent. The appeasement and funding of entities which promote the hatred of others, such as the Palestinian Authority and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNWRA), cannot be tolerated any longer. Until they stop the promulgation of hatred, they should not be supported.

From the announcement: "The appeasement and funding of entities which promote the hatred of others, such as the Palestinian Authority and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNWRA), cannot be tolerated any longer. Until they stop the promulgation of hatred, they should not be supported." ------ It seems so simple and logical, must be why the opposite is occurring.
