Video: Fogel family funeral March 13, 2011

Here's a video put together from camera shots of the Fogel family funeral on Sunday.

Let's go to the videotape (Hat Tip: NY Nana).

My liveblog of the eulogies is here.

I am proud that my son and many of his classmates at Reishit attended.

Carl, this is one hat tip I wish with all my heart I did not get. It still hurts so much to think of what was done by those monster terrorists to the Fogels HY'D that were massacred in cold blood...a 3-month old????? May there never be another massacre of innocent Jews in Israel or anywhere again. And now there are orphaned, innocent children who will carry the memories of what they saw for the rest of their lives.

"With whom is there to speak about peace?"

The blogger states. I also agree. With whom is there to speak about peace? What I see on these discussions are statements of outrage, anger, and then reactive resentment which then are quickly followed (too often) by patriotic cries of BUILD MORE! or THOSE EVIL MONSTERS HAVE NO SOULS! or other such reactions.

I"f the incense is in a vessel, all of the incense is impure if someone impure touches the vessel."

This seems a simple way to generalize and dehumanize 'palestinian' women and children. Just as similar tactics are used by the palestinian leadership to dehumanize jewish women and children.
Is this not evil when palestinian leadership does it?

"Judea shall always be settled and God will avenge the blood of martyrs."

This is what the palestinians are also saying when their families are killed right?

"What's the connection? Itamar should not be a village but a city... in response to these murders."

Hmm...

"Another neighborhood. More construction."

On contested lands? In areas where palestinian people will be displaced to make room ? Or in areas that have been taken and cleared by force? Or in areas that settling in will signify acts of war to the palestinian people?

I dont know. I am asking. It seems that there is some resentment or sentiment that reminds me of a young child who says "because you did something to me that was unfair and mean I am going to do exactly what I want to do that I know will upset you and perhaps cause you to do more of what I feel is unfair which will then justify me doing what I want again" (ad infinitum...)

"That's the answer. God will take care of the revenge."

"The vengefull spirit knows no master but anger and grants no gifts but emptiness."

It is tragic that this conflict is still happening and being used by people to foment hatred and intolerance for political gains.

Its heartening to know so many attended the funeral of these people who were murdered.

My hope is that rather than using this incident to create more conflict it sobers people to the need for dialogue and resoluton to save lives on both sides.
