Psagot winery wins two awards

I previously published an interview with the founder of the Psagot winery here. The winery won a gold and a silver medal at the prestigious Vinalies competition in Paris.
The Psagot winery won a gold medal and a silver medal at the recently-concluded Vinalies competition in Paris. The prestigious gold medal was awarded for its Cabernet Sauvignon and the silver medal was for its Edom wine. Both wines were entered in the "Single Vineyard 2009" category.

The vineyards are located on limestone terraces at altitudes of about 900 meters. After processing, the wine is brought to French and American oak vats in a cave from the Second Temple period which was discovered when the winery was established. The Edom wine is the flagship of the winery. It combines Cabernet Sauvignon grapes with Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot varieties.
Yet another way to stick it in the faces of the anti-Semites.

Heh.

Mazal Tov and if you'd like to send me a free sample, just drop me a note. The Edom sounds perfect for the seder night.

The Baron de Rothschild would be proud. Jewish wine has always had a reputation for being overly sweet, syrupy and undrinkable - even kosher wine!

No longer... today Israel produces world class quality wine that in color, appearance and taste rivals the finest vintages from France and California. Its won several awards and raves from wine critics the world over.

Israel wine today is really good!
