NPR reacts to video

NPR had this to say about the video that showed their true feelings about Jews and Israel (Hat Tip: Malky R).
"We are appalled by the comments made by Ron Schiller in the video, which are contrary to what NPR stands for," said NPR spokeswoman Dana Davis Rehm in a statement. "Mr. Schiller announced last week that he is leaving NPR for another job."

On the set-up, Rehm said: "The fraudulent organization represented in this video repeatedly pressed us to accept a $5 million check, with no strings attached, which we repeatedly refused to accept."

...

Update: NPR put out an additional statement around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

"The comments contained in the video released today are contrary to everything we stand for, and we completely disavow the views expressed. NPR is fair and open minded about the people we cover. Our reporting reflects those values every single day — in the civility of our programming, the range of opinions we reflect and the diversity of stories we tell."

"The assertion that NPR and public radio stations would be better off without federal funding does not reflect reality. The elimination of federal funding would significantly damage public broadcasting as a whole."

"Prior to the lunch meeting presented in the edited video, Ron Schiller had informed NPR that he was resigning from his position to take a new job. His resignation was announced publicly last week, and he was expected to depart in May. While we review this situation, he has been placed on administrative leave."
Me thinks the lady doth protest too much. Don't you agree?

carl,

ever fund raise? i have

and i have said things and listened to stuff that i would never say or listen to, just so the guy would write a check

you can get npr online...they are going through their fundraising bit right now...and they are using the republican threat of a cut as a selling point....amazingly, during every fund break, they always have a target number that seems almost impossible to hit...another way to tug at heart strings.

what did o'keefe prove with this vid (if it isnt edited the way his others have been)

he proved that at least two npr execs arent smart enough to simply google.

cuz if they had...they wouldve found the name of the org, being taken from a glenn beck forum.

dont even have to use google...all charities in the usa have to register...and this one wasnt

a website is never enough.

o'keefe is no better than cair, who just this week, edited a vid of a protest, to make every protester look like a raving, muslim hating bigot.

a pox on both their houses

but maybe you do want npr totally defunded...ok

then they will turn into pacifica 2.0...and that will be great

2 jew hating, jihadist hugging networks on the radio dial...i cant wait

Bacci, anything to get a check? I'd fire you - gladly.

You want O'Keefe's video unedited? Here. Not that it makes a difference. Tell us again why you think O'Keefe is like CAIR?

Schiller is out of a job but I bet the American Nazi Party could lure him in.

Defund NPR. Not on my dollar. And let the real NPR shine through.

NPR's Vivian Schiller resigns. From what I've read, she's not related to the creep in the video.

Shy Guy

you would fire me? ok

and then 10 kids wouldnt have been able to attend yeshiva

and why is o'keefe no better than cair? because both have an agenda and will do anything to make the message fit the agenda...right up to editing vids and changing what really happened and what was said

or are you not aware of what the atty generals of new york and california have said about the o'keefe acorn vids

o'keefe is the right wing version of max blumenthal
