You knew this was coming....

But of course. Some Arab media have now decided that deposed Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is - where else? - in Israel.
Ousted Egyptian leader Hosni Mubarak is in a luxury hotel in Israel, the news site Al-Arab reported Tuesday.

The Arabic-language website claimed there was a huge presence of security forces surrounding an unnamed hotel in Eilat, with airplanes monitoring activity overhead.

The site quoted an employee claiming Mubarak as a guest. It said the hotel declined comment.

According to most accounts, Mubarak is still in Egypt.

But that hasn't slowed a series of alternative theories of his whereabouts, including that the former leader opted to retire in Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and even Germany.
Israel Radio reported earlier that Mubarak had gone to Tabouk, in western Saudi Arabia for medical treatment. But they also noted that there is a purposeful disinformation campaign being conducted regarding Mubarak's whereabouts. I suppose that's not too surprising.
