I admit it. I never knew there was a Jewish community in Burma. But there was. In its heyday, in the 1940's, it had 2,500 members. Today, it's down 20. Most of the rest are here in Israel. I am an Orthodox Jew - some would even call me 'ultra-Orthodox.' My boyfriend's aunt just got back from Burma, and literally went to that synagogue. She had a fabulous time!
