In an earlier post, I reported on Saturday's planned demonstrations in Syria. At the end, I remarked that Assad may just gas them all. When I said that, I wasn't aware of this little tidbit from Ben Birnbaum.Despite Syria's police-state atmosphere, the Internet simmered with reports of a nationwide “day of rage” on Saturday, which would roughly coincide with the 29th anniversary of the Hama Massacre, in which Syrian forces killed thousands of civilians while quelling a revolt by the Muslim Brotherhood.I'd bet it's the exact date on the Muslim (lunar) calendar). Hmmm.
