Shocka: Abu Bluff considering holding elections
I'm sure that you'll all be shocked to hear that as a result of what's happening in Egypt, 'moderate' 'Palestinian' President Senior Fatah official Azzam Al-Ahmad said Sunday that President Mahmoud Abbas was looking into holding presidential and legislative elections despite the national division.I wonder what will happen if someone other than Abu Bluff is elected the Grand Pubah of 'Palestine.' Heh.
Speaking at a press conference in Ramallah, Al-Ahmad said a meeting would be held Monday to discuss holding elections.
Fatah would support a government decision to hold elections, he said.

Not much chance of that, I'd guess. Like the Iranian Mullahs, the Palestinian Authority seems to work on Boss Tweed's rule: "It doesn't matter who votes-it matters who COUNTS the votes." Between Boss Tweed and the Chicago Democratic Machine, the Palestinian Authority can learn all it needs about corruption and perpetual hold on power from studying the Democratic Party.
If elections are held, they won't be free and they won't be fair.
No word on whether Hamas has agreed to hold elections in Gaza.
I'm not holding my breath waiting for them to happen any time soon.
