Mideast 'quartet' to meet

The Middle East 'quartet' will meet on the sidelines of a security conference in Munich in February.
The German government says the Quartet of Middle East peacemakers will meet on the sidelines of a security conference in Munich next month. The Quartet is made up of the US, the UN, the European Union and Russia.

German government spokesman Steffen Seibert said Friday the quartet will hold a high-level meeting during the Feb. 4-6 conference in Munich, a major annual forum for defense and security policy officials. Seibert says US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton will attend.
