The biggest arson fire in Israel ever
There's a huge fire going in Haifa's Carmel Forest - the radio has discussed nothing else for about an hour. It is said to have four sources, which indicates that it's likely arson. It's warm (low 80's) and dry in Israel today, as it has been for the last several weeks.Edit
Let's go to the videotape.
I will try to update to the extent that there's anything to report.
UPDATE 2:22 PM
Here's another video and for those who understand Hebrew, you can hear Israel Radio in the background. This was filmed just before the 2:00 news.
Let's go to the videotape.
UPDATE 5:00 PM
A bus that was evacuating 40 people from the fire has overturned. There are also several other people missing and much of the area has been evacuated.
UPDATE 5:05 PM
JPost says 10 people were killed in an overturned bus, but Magen David Adom's director in the area has just told Israel Radio that 'tens' of people have been killed.
Another correspondent just said at least 20 people were killed when a bus caught fire and many more are critically hurt.
UPDATE 5:24 PM
JPost now reporting that 40 people are 'feared dead' in that overturned bus. Israel Radio is reporting that a Kibbutz Beit Oren is totally on fire. The Kibbutz had been evacuated.

Find them. Shoot them. Makes no difference who they are.
Israel's biggest problem has become its utter refusal to implement real law enforcement. Personally, I would be happy if the arsonists would find their way into their own fire. Literally.
(And in case the State Dep't or DHS or G-d knows who is tracking this - not to mention Shaba"k - I am not calling for murder. I am calling for capital punishment - arrest, speedy trial, etc.)
Prison bus overturned. People died. Houses in Beit Oren up in flames. Not good.
If it turns out to be arson by Arabs intent on destroying Israel, I'm with Shy Guy ("Find them. Shoot them.")
To add to the horror: I found out tonight that Rav Uriel Malka, a former beloved teacher at a Jewish Day School in my town and neighborhood was one of the victims on the bus. He left a young widow and small children.
I am devastated.

Before Arson is blamed, someone needs to fire model this incident with WFDS (WildFire Dynamic Simulator) to determine if indeed there were multiple points of ignition. I have used fire modeling in Arson Investigations for years and averaging half the time the conclusion is that the case was NOT arson. Fire behavior is a dynamic event, and in many of my cases these 'multiple' ignition points' were found to be just not so. We don't need jerks concluding the incident as arson without using the "scientific method" - conclusions based on a 'witch-hunt', 'junk science', bogus 'gut feelings', 'old wives tales', and other handed down methods that are 'loads of crap'!!!
Sadly, some Christian group from Olympia believes the fires were started by people from a neighboring Settlement. Pathetic. http://olympia.komonews.com/content/olympia-church-group-returns-home-survivors-arson-israel
