Why lease land from them that belongs to us?
Surprise, surprise, surprise. 'Israeli sources' are now confirming that Prime Minister Netanyahu agreed to an American proposal that Israel lease parts of the Jordan Valley from the 'Palestinians.' Except that he'd really like a little bit longer.According to the Monday report, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu agreed to the idea, but demanded that the arrangement be for a longer period of time than the original offer. "Seven years is not enough - an arrangement like this needs to last for dozens of years," Netanyahu said in closed talks, according to Army Radio.Hershkowitz is right, but does anyone else in the cabinet agree with him?
A senior minister said that "anything less than a 99-year lease is not worth talking about," according to the report.
Habayit Hayehudi head Daniel Herschkowitz dismissed the idea, even if it is for 99 years, Army Radio reported. He said, "If we agree to the offer, we will be broadcasting to the Palestinians that the land is actually theirs." Adding, "I'm not the only one who thinks this way."
Herschkowitz drove home his point, saying, "Why do I need to lease land from them that belongs to us?," the report said.
What could go wrong?

Since the Palestinians have already shot this down this all is sort of a reverse spin on the old joke about the shadchan who proposes a match between a pious Jew's eldest daughter and Baron Rothschild. For hours they argue--his daughter is too good for the secularized reprobate, the Baron will never keep a kosher home, he won't appreciate her devotion, her modesty, her sensitivities, etc. Finally the pious Jew succumbs to the shadchan's pleadings and agrees.
"Whew," says the shadchan, wiping his brow with his handkerchief, "halfway home!"
Its outrageous... the notion you should should lease your country from the enemy is offensive. It deserves to be dismissed with contempt.
The Jews won't have a country for much longer if they behave like dhimmis.
