'If we want to ask for another freeze, we'll ask for another freeze'

So much for that one shot 90-day freeze to which the Obama administration was asking Israel to agree.
One of the issues reportedly holding up Washington’s letter to Jerusalem regarding US commitments in exchange for an additional 90-day settlement freeze is whether borders will be the focus of the first three months of negotiations.

The Palestinians want the border issue to be the focus of the start of the talks, arguing that once the borders were set it would be clear where Israel could and could not build. But Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s position is that border issues cannot be divorced from other core issues such as security arrangements and Israel’s demands that the Palestinians recognize Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people – something that would be tantamount to their accepting that the descendents of Palestinian refugees would not be allowed to return to Israel.

Netanyahu is also apparently unwilling to pledge to wrap up an agreement on borders during the time of a settlement freeze. And the US, for its part, is reportedly unwilling to commit in writing that this would be the last settlement freeze it would request, apparently wanting to keep open the option of another freeze if the border issue is not wrapped up during one 90- day freeze.
What could go wrong?

OK Mr. President. Here's your freeze. If you have any further demands to ease the plight of the Sudeten Palestinians well, make demands, without compelling poor Bibi to pretend they were his ideas. Why schlep along the horse?

oh btw, meanwhile Fatah lays down this marker (from JPost): "“The council also renews its refusal for the establishment of any racist state based on religion in accordance with international law and human rights conventions.”" Well, contradictions between all this retro-tread secular democratic horse manure and the role of Islam in Arab polities aside, adding this to Abu Stormtrooper's praise of the Mufti, his Holocauast-denying thesis on “The Secret Connection between the Nazis and the Leaders of the Zionist Movement” and the continuing denial of Jewish history, why oh why would Bibi get on board Obama's uregency of now choo-choo to a railroaded settlement with these Mexican Nazis?

There will be no freeze. The US is not willing to declare this is the last one and the Israelis and the Palestinians are divided by more than whether building goes on in the revanants.

Amazing how much has changed in so short a time. Or has it?

Heh

Its time Israel makes it clear to the US that it is waiting for regime change to move forward on any peace plan. That is, change in US regime.

Obama and his minions aren't worth working with. Think of them as a worse version of Jimmah Carter.

Assume any work with the US will come with strings that they will attempt to use to strangle Israel.

And for g-d's sake, get your weapons production into high gear. Thats the last real point of leverage they have. You need to take that away from them.
