Mistrial in the Wilders case

When we last left Dutch politician Geert Wilders, the prosecutors in his case had recommended not prosecuting but the judges still had the right to intervene and demand prosecution.

On Friday, a mistrial was declared in the Wilders case when the 'challenge court' of the Amsterdam court accept his attorney's demand that the judges in the case be replaced. The challenge was accepted when the court refused to immediately accept the testimony of an expert on Islam, and instead took the request to allow the expert to testify under advisement. the court did not immediately accept the expert's testimony because at least one of the judges on the court attempted to influence the expert (yes, apparently, the Dutch judiciary is that corrupt). Follow the links to keep up with the story.
