Lazy Susan abandoned Canada in Security Council vote

This is from a Wall Street Journal article describing how Canada lost a bid for a Security Council seat and urging Canadians to wear that loss as a badge of honor (sentiment with which I agree wholeheartedly).
The U.S. role here is also embarrassing—to the U.S. Richard Grenell, a former senior official at the U.S. Mission to the U.N., reported last week that America's U.N. ambassador, Susan Rice, refused to campaign on Canada's behalf. Mr. Harper's politics are not hers, and Liberal opposition leader and Obama political soulmate, Michael Ignatieff, declared last month that Canada under Mr. Harper didn't deserve to get one of the 10 temporary seats.
And you thought friendships don't (or ought not to) depend on which party is in power.

Given that it was a secret ballot, it wouldn't surprise me if Rice even voted for Portugal.

Read the whole thing.

Susan Rice is a zombie: she is the undead of the Obama administration, even her face is corpse-like. She does nothing, never turns up, but her unseen presence leaves behind a nasty smell of the rotten body-politic!

Its typical of the Obama administration. Why would they allow a conservative government like Stephen Harper's into a decision making role. They don't see eye to eye. This is why the first country Obama went to visit was Mexico and not Canada. We need him our of here before we become Europe part 2.
