There he goes again

Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman John Kerry (D-Ma) is urging President Obama to 'engage' Iran again.
In an interview on CNN's "Fareed Zakaria GPS" show Sunday, Kerry said a good place to begin with the Iranians would be discussions about the way forward in Afghanistan and that those talks could lead to discussions on other vital topics, such as Iran's nuclear program.

Asked if he would favor the U.S. engaging Iran on the issue, Kerry said, "Absolutely. You bet I would. I think it could become a way even to get in on the other issues of concern to us, not just nuclear, but the whole regional issue."

Kerry said there are powerful reasons for Iran to talk with the U.S. about Afghanistan.

"I think Iran has interests in Afghanistan. They don't like the Taliban. They don't like narcotics being transited. There are reasons that they would want a stable government there. And I think that we should -- you know, diplomacy is the art of playing to everybody's interests. And everybody has some interests with respect to this outcome," Kerry said.
And in the meantime, Iran continues to enrich uranium and work on a ballistic missile capability.

What could go wrong?
