Political correctness run rampant

Where will Israel's 'High Court of Justice' interfere next?
The High Court of Justice on Thursday ordered the state to appoint at least one woman to the Turkel Committee by August 29.

The Turkel Committee is in the process of investigating the IDF's conduct on the Mavi Marmara, in which nine Turkish activists were killed by IDF commandos.

The Thursday morning decision stated that five women must be offered the position who had not been offered the opportunity in the past, until the appointed time. If they all reject the offer, then the state will not be required to appoint a woman to the committee. The order falls in-line with gender equality rights.
The implication is that women were offered positions and turned it down. The result is absurd. Are they going to 'do over' the hearings for a new member?

Sorry, but I'd rather see people appointed on merit rather than based on outside factors. There is no shortage of women in high positions in this country. The picture at the top is Supreme Court Chief Justice Dorit Beinish.

The leftist Israel Supreme Court has reached a new low in stupidity. But that's the way it always performs in the country and most Israelis know its makeup is not at all representative of the country's real views.
