Hamas blames Netanyahu for 'killing' Shalit deal
A Hamas spokesman told the BBC's Arabic service on Thursday night that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is responsible for 'killing' a deal to release kidnapped IDF corporal Gilad Shalit. Senior Hamas representative Ayman Ta said Thursday night that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu caused a deal to release abducted soldier Gilad Shalit to fail because he demanded deportation of released terrorists away from Judea and Samaria to Gaza and abroad.A 'deal' implies that two sides both agree to something. What Netanyahu is 'guilty' of doing is trying to negotiate so that whatever deal was reached did not harm Israel in the future.
Interviewed by the British Broadcasting Corporation's Arabic service, Ta said that Netanyahu also quashed the deal by refusing to release a number of the terrorists demanded by his organization.
But for Hamas, the entire 'negotiation' is a zero-sum game. Either Israel meets their demands or there is no agreement. If this sounds familiar, it should. It's how the entire Arab - Muslim world 'negotiates.' Think of how the 'Palestinian Authority' has negotiated with the last five Israeli Prime Ministers, and how 'our friends the Saudis' have presented their so-called 'peace initiative.' Everything is a zero-sum game.
You can't reach agreements with people for whom everything is all-or-nothing, take-it-or-leave-it. It's time for Israel to stop trying until the Arab world grows up (if ever).

I would be willing to wager that had hamas been given all they asked for, they would still find a reason to back out.
Israel should draw the line and take a lesson from the Arabs in steadfastness. The Arabs never compromise on their principles while the Jews keep compromising on theirs. Jews need to change their psychology and entire outlook if they are going to survive in the Middle East.
