J Street can't claim that it's close to Kadima anymore
Michael Goldfarb reports that J Street, the
pro-Israel,
pro-peace,
pro-Obama lobby of inter-married Jews, can no longer claim to be in tune with Israel's 'centrist'
Kadima party.
Sensing an opportunity earlier this week, Livni blasted Netanyahu for easing the blockade on Gaza.
"In the neighborhood where we live Israel has to take decisions on the basis of its own interests and not under pressure," Livni said. "Acting under pressure signals weakness and we cannot allow ourselves to do that."
So the leader of Kadima has now become even more hardline than Likud on an issue of paramount importance to the anti-Israel left, and she has explicitly rejected the premise of J Street – that U.S. pressure can resolve the Arab-Israeli conflict.
Goldfarb goes on to suggest that J Street ought to affiliate with the 3-member Meretz party, but I don't believe they'll fit in there either because Meretz - with all their other faults - still believes Israel has a right to exist. I would guess that
Balad (which had an MK on the Turkish flotilla) would be more J Street's style.

after Obama demise J-street no more
There's not that many Israelis enamored of national suicide. J-Street's position is to the left of Kadima and Kadima is even more to the right on the blockade issue than Netanyahu! Livni understands the Israeli national mood; Ben-Ami is completely oblivious to it.
Heh
J-streeters pray to Soros and Allah
