Israel's Foreign Ministry and Che Guevara
On Monday, I commented on the rather strange reference by Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor to Che Guevara spinning in his grave over Fidel Castro's comments about Israel. I'm not the only one who was puzzled by that reference. So was Jay Nordlinger. Che Guevara? The guy from the T-shirt? He was a vicious killer and totalitarian who loved to shoot “class enemies” against his paredón — his wall — in La Cabaña, as they shouted “Viva Cuba libre!” and “Viva Cristo Rey!” and who fathered the Cuban gulag, into which he and the revolution tossed dissidents and gays and any other “undesirable” they could get their hands on. Guevara planned for all of Latin America the hell in which he helped to plunge Cuba.Hmmm.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry is either too cute by half or moronic. If Guevara can hear its spokesman from where he is, he is laughing his head off. If he were alive today, he would be as determined and nasty a foe of Israel as anyone in Tehran (or Damascus or Gaza City or Amherst).

Here in the US, I've often seen people wearing those obscene Che T-shirts. A few times, while in line at the supermarket checkout or elsewhere, I've politely and in a friendly manner asked the Che T-shirt wearing person, "Do you know the criminal history of Che Guevera? That he was a mass-murderer?"
The mindless response I've always gotten were basically "Huh?" They weren't hostile, just historically ignorant and indifferent. They vaguely thought of him as "he must be a 'progressive' hero" and to them, it was just a cool, PC T shirt to wear.
Unlike that top level Obama-for-President campaign woman in her office with the huge poster of Che on the wall. A blog journalist managed to take a photo of that, published it on his website with the story, then it got spread all over the Internet. Of course, the story and photo were duly ignored by the hard-left enabling "journalists" of the American MSM. I've come to despise them.
Che Guevera was a psychopath and cold blooded Communist mass murderer. I don't know what the Israeli Foreign Ministry tried to say!
The MFA needs to be dismantled and rebuilt from scratch. Den of entrenched leftist fools.
