'Free Gaza' closing its Cyprus headquarters
'Free Gaza,' the organization that has been behind several attempts to breach the Gaza 'blockade, has announced that it is closing its Cyprus office and relocating its headquarters to London.A spokeswoman for a pro-Palestinian group behind several attempts to breach Israel's Gaza blockade by ship said on Saturday it will shut down the group's Cyprus headquarters, but won't stop sending ships to the Palestinian territory.Israel Radio reported early Sunday morning (5:00 am news) that the Israeli government was quite pleased with the decision. Israel asked Cyprus not to let the ships land in Cyprus last week, and because of that, many 'celebrities' never made it onto the flotilla of fools.
Greta Berlin of the Free Gaza Movement said the group could relocate its offices to London and that plans to send another flotilla of ships to Gaza in the early fall are still on.
Berlin said the group will close its Larnaca office on Monday and members will return to their respective countries for now.
"We're not going to stop, were going to move our location," Berlin said. "I think we've put Israel into a corner and we'll keep it up."
...
Berlin said the move was because of Cyprus' decision last month to ban any ships from sailing to Gaza from its shore to protect its "vital interests."
The group used the eastern Mediterranean island about 250 miles (400 kilometres) from Gaza to launch a total eight boat trips to the Palestinian territory from Aug. 2008 to Dec. 2009. Israel has allowed ships through five times, but has blocked them from entering Gaza waters since a three-week military offensive in Gaza against Hamas in January 2009.
"If Cyprus is going to make it difficult for us, why should we stay?" said Berlin.
There are two more positive aspects to this announcement. First, it looks like we may have a quiet summer, at least on this front. 'Free Gaza' is apparently not planning any more blockade running until the fall. Second, if 'Free Gaza' is reduced to launching ships from London, they will have to cover a much longer distance and they will have to deal with winter conditions in the North Atlantic.
Who says that problems don't have military solutions?
The picture is a coffee shop in the Gaza 'concentration camp.' Over the last couple of days, there have been a lot of hits on the Gaza 'concentration camp' pictures I posted back in December. For those who have not seen them or have forgotten them, you can find them here.

There are fuel and maintainance costs involved in running a ship... a lot of money. So where does "Free Gaza" get the money from to operate one ship let alone a flotilla of them? Israel could easily put a stop to its operations by either sinking ships at sea or scuppering them in port. Israel could bankrupt "Free Gaza" in short order. That would send the message trying to break the blockade doesn't pay and nothing talks as loud in this world as money does.
free gaza is just an arm of the ism...it should be noted as such
and carl, isnt the easiest way to shlug up the talking points of gaza being an "open air prison" and the worlds "largest concentration camp", is that whole event when the gazans broke through the egyptian barrier....they all came back?
who escapes from a prison....then returns?
Its time to go after Free Gaza, ISM, and other "NGO" types. Follow their money, issue arrest warrants. These folks aid and abet terror, that is reason enough to go after them and their assets. Peirce the corporate shield, and go after their funders.
Stop rolling over and pretending like it is going to be alright. It won't until we take an aggressive forward posture. Lets fight these battles on their lands, take their assets, and throw the idiots who profess their love for hamas and hizbo, into jail and into bankruptcy.
Any governments funding or supporting these idiots needs to be brought to court to explain themselves, and answer for damages, and charges of terror support. Criminal and civil proceedings. Put Carl and others to work to go after them and their assets.
Make it very painful, and expensive to support terror. This hasn't been done yet. Its about time we did it.
