Ex-Egyptian Chief of Staff: 'There will definitely be more Arab - Israeli wars'

Someone please remind me why we made 'peace' with these people and gave back every last grain of sand in Sinai.

On al-Jazeera, former Egyptian Chief of Staff Sa'ad al-Din al-Shazli says that there will definitely be more Arab - Israeli wars, and that the Arabs will eventually defeat (read: exterminate) Israel (God forbid).

Let's go to the videotape.

Why should Israel ever make peace with an Arab country? Why should Israel give up tangible assets if the result is that the Arab country takes the concessions and waits for the next war? What is the point of making 'peace'?

To the Arabs, there is no "peace" with Israel - simply a truce until the next round. If the Arabs were really defeated and forced to give up territory, they might make peace with Israel. Israel's big mistake has been to lead the Arabs to believe they don't have to pay a real price for attacking the Jewish State. That is why the conflict continues to this very day.
