'Holocaust a false pretext to create Israel'
Friday, the last Friday of Ramadamadan, is Quds today - the day that Muslims around the world express solidarity with the 'Palestinians' and hatred for Israel and the Jews. In Tehran on Friday, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told a rally that the Holocaust was 'a false pretext to create Israel.' Addressing a rally in Teheran, Ahmadinejad also said that "confronting the Zionist regime is a national and religious duty," and that Israel "has no future."The opposition will also be holding rallies in Tehran today although whether the government allows them to happen remains to be seen at this hour.
The Holocaust was not a pretext to create Israel - false or otherwise. Israel was created because the Jewish people returned to their historical home from their places of exile around the world. The Holocaust was a catalyst for the State to be founded more quickly, but it was in the works long before the Holocaust began. It is generally accepted that the history of modern Zionism begins with the mass aliya in the 1880's.
That's why President Obumbler's drivel in Cairo about the State of Israel being created out of the Holocaust - as well as his moral equivalence between the Holocaust and the 'Palestinians' leaving this country - were so false and hurtful. He just gave Ahmadinejad more ammunition.

The outpouring of hatred from Tehran and the rest of the world is a blip in the annals of history. The Jewish people have outlasted all their enemies. And they will outlast those sworn to their destruction in our own time.

It's called the 'Shoah' now, the Holocaust has yet to happen.
