Regev: Evictions not political

Israeli government spokesman Mark Regev is interviewed by a hostile CNN reporter and rips her to shreds.

Let's go to the videotape.

I thought Regev did quite well. The rule of law means that the courts decide. It's the same in the US as it is here in Israel. The court rules and you have to obey. Israel's government had nothing to do with this case, and it's not up to the government to interfere.

Not that anyone will listen. They'd rather see the eastern half of Jerusalem judenrein.

Carl - I have to correct you - the entire world wants to see Jerusalem judenrein. It should be pointed out Western countries don't recognize Israeli sovereignty in either the western or eastern parts of the city. And if you look at their consulate websites, you can be pardoned for never knowing Jerusalem had a Jewish majority since the 19th Century. Its like the Jews have been erased out of Jerusalem's history. What the world finds even more intolerable than Jews living in Jerusalem is their rule over it.

That's the truth, folks.

Good grief. She presumably thinks of herself as a thinking adult, yet she was fundamentally incapable of uttering anything outside of the all too predictable scripted/narrative lines.

Pull her string, she walks, she talks ...

He should have said...

And how would you like it if we have NO BLACKS ALLOWED sections of major American cities?

Way too polite and dull. I would not qualify that as a "rip".

Martin Sherman has a strong rebuke to Debra DeLee Of Peace Now's American affiliate. The thrust of it is, NO WE CAN'T!

There's more.

The CNN reporter was horrifying, as usual.

I was just wondering- for Carl or any commentor- if you support Jews living in East Jerusalem and the West Bank, thus preventing a two-state solution, what do you propose? It seems that a one-state solution with a Jewish minority wouldn't be preferable either.
