Video: Canadian reporter describes being beaten in Tehran

George McLeod, freelance correspondent for The Globe and Mail, describes being beaten, taken into custody during Iranian protests.

The Iranian regime apparently could not care less what the media thinks of them so long as they cannot report live. I would have thought that they either would have had the reporter die 'accidentally' or not hit him at all. Instead, they beat him and let him go, knowing that he would tell his story to the world. That tells me that they don't care what the world finds out about them.

I suspect the same would be true if - God forbid - this group ever got their hands on nuclear weapons.

Let's go to the videotape.

The Iranian regime is a dictatorship. It is not bothered by world opinion. To the contrary, it knows enough to use the media to send the message it wants: we can do whatever we want and no one can stop us.

What else could go wrong indeed
