The despicable Tom Brokaw

Shavua tov, a good week to everyone.

On Friday's Today show, Tom Brokaw asked President Obama what the Israelis should learn from Buchenwald about their treatment of the 'Palestinians' as if there were an equivalence between them (Hat Tip: Power Line). Obama refuses to draw the moral equivalence. Or does he?

Let's go to the videotape.

(The full interview is here).

Obama believes that Judaism is the world of his advisers - people like Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod - a world in which Judaism has been replaced by 'liberalism.' Judaism has no tradition of 'empathy' that would require, expect or want us to risk our demise to give the 'Palestinians' a state reichlet. No lectures from The One are going to change that.

As to Brokaw, Power Line refers to his question as 'unbelievable.' Hot Air adds the detail that the interview took place in Dresden, "ground zero of the neo-Nazi revisionist movement to draw moral equivalence between Nazi atrocities and Allied bombings of German cities." Like the rest of the fawning media around Obama, Brokaw is simply beneath contempt.

Only people who can't see there is no similarity between the Jewish and the Arab case would be so asinine. Judaism is not about being kind to one's enemies. Jews to the contrary are commanded to destroy them. As long as Israel keeps those who hate them alive for the next round, the Jewish State will never know peace.

NormanF You are wrong. Tell me this. If all Jews in Israel laid down their arms and put their fate in the hands of the Arabs how long do you think they would live? They would be slaughtered. If the Palestinians disarmed how long would they survive? They would live a long time. The culture of death is a Palestinian culture. Judaism reveres life.
