Mohamed ElBaradei goes ballistic
Shavua tov - a good week to everyone.Soon-to-be-former IAEA chief Mohamed ElBaradei, the man most responsible for giving Iran all that time to develope nuclear weapons, went ballistic in an interview published in Germany's Der Spiegel on Saturday, at the prospect of an Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear weapons program.
Israel would be "utterly insane" to attack Iran, outgoing International Atomic Energy Agency chief Mohamed ElBaradei said in an interview with German daily Der Spiegel Saturday.Huh? Does anyone really think that Egypt or Saudi Arabia or Jordan are going to support Iranian nuclear weapons just because Israel attacked Iran's nuclear weapons development program? Especially if the Israeli attack is carried out with conventional weapons? He's got to be kidding....
"That would turn the region into one great fireball, and the Iranians would immediately begin building the bomb - with the support of the entire Islamic world."
In the interview ElBaradei called on Teheran to take advantage of the US's newfound willingness to negotiate over the nuclear issue.Good luck with that.
"I advise the [officials] I meet from Iran: Seize the hand that Obama is offering you," he said.

Does anyone know when ElBaradei's term is up? And who will replace him?
ElBaradei is an muslim first, an arab second, and a 'diplomat' third. Any guess as to where his loyalties lie?
Wouldn't want those pesky joooooooooooooos to attack any part of the ummah or dar al islam now, would we?
The point is that an Israeli attack would not necessarily lead to Iran retaliating. But if Israel does nothing, its as good as setting the stage for World War IV.Dictators are not going to be dissuaded by hopenchange talk but only by deterrence. If Mohamed ElBaradei doesn't get that, he doesn't understand why Israel sees stopping Iran from going nuclear as its most important foreign policy objective. Otherwise he wouldn't have blasted Israel for pursuing it in the first place.
