Biden and Kerry put the screws to Israel at AIPAC

Vice President Joe Biden and Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman John Kerry have used their speeches at the AIPAC conference to put the screws to Israel.
Vice President Joe Biden and Democratic Senator John Kerry told the pro-Israel AIPAC lobby Tuesday that Israel must freeze all building in Judea and Samaria and make further concessions to the Palestinian Authority.

Their speeches preceded by several hours a visit by President Shimon Peres to U.S. President Barack Obama, who has fulfilled his post-election commitment to “hit the ground running” in order to return Israel and the PA to the table for discussions on a new PA state.

“You are not going to like my saying this but [do] not build more settlements, dismantle existing outposts and allow Palestinians freedom of movement," the vice president told the delegates.

Both speeches represented an increasingly intense across-the-board campaign in the Obama government to force Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to accept the “two-state solution.”
There is nothing in any agreement signed by Israel that requires it not to 'build settlements' and there is certainly nothing that prohibits it from expanding 'existing settlements.' Then-Prime Minister Ariel Sharon promised then-President George W. Bush that he would dismantle 'illegal outposts' that were built after 2001. But all obligations under the 'road map' as accepted by Israel are contingent upon the 'Palestinians' first dismantling all terror organizations, and of course that hasn't happened and is never likely to happen.

Still, the uber-Leftist Obama administration pressures Israel to make more unilateral concessions.

Of course, there probably weren't too many objections to Biden's and Kerry's pressure at AIPAC. After all, AIPAC is sending the delegates to visit Congress today to 'convince' their Representatives and Senators to sign a petition calling for a 'two-state solution.'

What could go wrong?

It should be pointed out the Palestinians have rejected Israel's offer to resume negotiations immediately and according to Saeb Erakat, the talks should resume at the point they ended under the previous Israeli government.

The US government wants to reward Palestinian extremism and force Israel to make unilateral concessions to the Palestinians regardless of whether or not the Palestinians actually want peace. After all, the reason the screws are being put to Israel in Washington is because Israel is perceived as the roadblock to peace in the region.

With that kind of mindset in the Obama Administration, what could go wrong indeed

Carl - while AIPAC is lobbying Congress for Israeli suicide, the Land Of Israel movement and Orthodox Jewish groups have launched a petition AGAINST a Palestinian state. Yours truly signed it. Its not a politically correct position to adopt these days and I thought it deserves a mention here:

NO TO A PALESTINIAN STATE!

Dear fellow Jews:

Just say NO.

Well, between this and Emmanuel Rahm's declaration that any US action on Iran is predicated on progress between Israel and the PA terrorists, Obama is basically telling Israel that it has the choice of being incinerated by Iran or commiting suicide by adopting the Saudi plan.
Nice!

Hey, if it's good enough for Chrysler creditors, it's good enough for us.

Andre, Israel is damned if she does and damned if she doesn't. Its quite clear the present Administration considers Israel to be expendable. I don't know if that has registered in Jerusalem yet.

We'll see.

"And I will bless them that bless thee, and him that curseth thee will I curse; and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed."

HaShem to Abram (Abraham), Genesis 12:3

Bad times are coming for this nation is this anti-Israel policy is carried through.

Oh, and so much for our idiot brethren who voted for the Obamination - what a real big help you have been to your fellow Jews, you putzes! McCain had/has his faults, they are legion, but he knows Israel as an ally and backs its right to survival within secure borders.

Led by Obama the appeaser.

The Old Saying Goes That Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Vice President Biden spoke a the AIPAC Conference and defended the fact that the Obama administration is making diplomatic overtures to Iran. If you read my article this morning which spoke about the moves that Iran is making in the region to become the de facto leader, it's spoken desire to obtain a nuclear capability, it's undying hatred of Israel, and severe dislike for the United States (or maybe hatred is another word), what is the purpose of opening a dialogue?...

I just wrote to my congressman and told him to have some backbone and stand up to AIPAC
When half the Congressmen show up at a pro israeli lobby dinner and have to stand up for a "roll call" of support for whatever the current Israeli policy you know who is the puppet and who is pullng the strings.

If America has to beg Israel for permission everytime it wants to breath, we should just pay our taxes to Israel instead of the US government

I for one and tired of the extremist in Israel and Palestine running the show. They've had 60 years to settle their differences and they are not a step closer to a peaceful solution. Their methods have failed for the past 60 years.

Time for new solutions

No worries Norris. I think that your President and Vice President have made their selection in this fight, and it is not Israel.

The Obama administration, or Obama Appeasement administration is not only going to sell Israel out, but our country as well.

As the saying goes, be careful what you wish for (Obama), or wish against (anyone else)
