Ahmadinejad cancels his Latin American tour

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has canceled a scheduled trip to Venezuela, Ecuador and Brazil later this week according to his official web site. No explanation was given.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has indefinitely postponed a trip to South America which was scheduled for later this week, according to a report published on the president’s official Web site on Monday. No explanation was given for the change of plan. Ahmadinejad was scheduled to visit Venezuela, Ecuador and Brazil.

The Islamic Republic's IRNA news agency said on Monday that the Iranian president would visit Syria on Tuesday.
Even DEBKA is at a loss to explain this one.

I think that just like the Russians told Iran not to have an air show in which their 140 war planes would have made an ideal target for Israel, the Russians have probably told Ahmadinejad that the more he travels, the more he is likely to be sent to meet his 72 raisins in an "untimely" fashion.
He is staying home because he is a coward.
