Pesach in Mumbai

Despite the terror attacks there six months ago in which local Rabbi Gavriel Holzberg and his wife Rivka HY"D (may God avenge their blood) were murdered, there will be a seder in Mumbai tomorrow night. And there will be one Thursday night too.

Here in Israel, on the other hand, we will have only one seder. I will be offline from just before sundown on Wednesday until about an hour or two after sundown on Thursday. Some of you may not even notice.

Have a good Pesach. Don't over eat and remember you only have to eat matzoh, you don't have to like it.

Hi Carl, for your one Seder, does it coincide with the first or second Seder night?

Freddy, first night.

2nd day of Yom-Tov is required everywhere outside of the land of Israel, i.e., in the diaspora.

Carl - will you be saying the Bircas HaChammah blessing after sunrise on Wednesday morning? Its once every 28 years. Fitting indeed it should fall just before Erev Pesach!

NormanF,

Yes, we will be saying Bircas HaChammah, weather permitting. But I have decided to stay in the neighborhood (where there will only be a few thousand people) rather than trying to go to the madhouse at the Kotel and then have to race back to burn chametz (unleavened bread) on time.
