IAF jets scramble toward Delta Airlines plane

IAF jets scrambled toward a Delta Airlines flight from New York on Saturday afternoon, after the plane failed to make contact with the control tower at Ben Gurion Airport. Israeli security officials feared the plane had been hijacked. The jets made contact with the pilot and were told that a technical malfunction prevented him from contacting the control tower. There were 105 passengers on board and the plane landed safely.

Some of you may recall a similar incident with a Continental jet two years ago.

9/11 won't happen here. They'll shoot down anyone.

Carl, Israel shot down a Libyan Airlines plane over the Sinai in 1973. That's the first time Israel was faced with what might have been a 9/11 style terrorist attack. They can shoot down any one and it won't be allowed to happen there.
