Video: Islamic cleric says Israel belongs to ... the Jews
Okay, the Islamic cleric is the Italian Sheikh Palazzi, who is known to have different views than most of the Muslim world, but he certainly seems to be on solid grounds under Islamic theology.Note that he also says that there is no such thing as a 'Palestinian people,' which I have argued before as well.
Let's go to the videotape.

Before you claim the Sheik is on solid Islamic ground, compare his Quranic quotes with the context of the surrounding verses and check which verses were said during what period of Mohamed and whether these verses were abrogated or not according to the half a dozen classic Islamic schools.

Palazzi may be a nice man and very sincere but he represents a flavor of Islam unknown to Mohamed and his disciples.

ShyGuy, the Koran DOES say the Land Of Israel belongs to the Jewish people. But apart from jihad and learning the Jews are the sons of monkey and pigs, how much do you bet Muslims really know what the Koran says?

I agree with Shy about Palazzi, and would add that he does support some form of self determination for the 'palestinian people' so as much as his attitude toward "radical Islam" is correct, his attitude towards Islam is not.
