Another Gaza mansion disappears UPDATE along with its occupant!

Israel Radio has just reported that the IAF attacked the home of Hamas 'interior minister' Said Siam. There is now 'a crater' where the house used to be.

I assume Siam is in an underground bunker somewhere and was not at home.

UPDATE 7:00 PM

Israel Radio has just reported that the IDF got Said Siam (pictured) tonight.

Hamas has not confirmed.

Good riddance!

The IDF also just got the launcher that launched those rockets at Be'er Sheva two hours ago.

UPDATE 8:35 PM

JPost has more on Siam and some other high quality targets who were killed in the strike.

Siam was the Hamas political echelon's liaison with the group's military wing, and was responsible for the various security apparatuses in the Strip, including the police and the naval force.

Siam was considered a radical and was in contact with Hamas's political leadership in Damascus. He was also considered close to Iranian officials.

Siam was one of the masterminds of Hamas's violent takeover of the Gaza Strip in June 2007.

Salah Abu Shrakh, the head of the Hamas general security service, was also killed in the air strike.

Siam was the most senior Hamas man to be killed in almost three weeks of fighting. Hamas confirmed that Siam was killed with his brother and son. According to Palestinian reports, Mahmoud Watfa, one of the commanders of the Hamas military wing, was also killed in the strike.
What's left of Siam's house is pictured at right. I'm amazed he was home.

UPDATE 9:03 PM

Israel Television just reported on its nightly news magazine that it was Siam's brother's house that was hit. That might explain why Siam thought he was safe.

Looks like they got Said Siam... its a major blow to Hamas and Ismail Haniyeh must think if Israel could get to Siam, they can get to him. I bet in the light of this development, odds are now good the surviving Hamas leaders will accept the ceasefire pushed by the Egyptians. Its one thing to keep rocketing the "Zionist entity." Its another thing for no one to be left around to direct all that rocketing.

Israel's Channel 10 has reported the IDF is in the middle of Gaza City. So much for all those reports of house to house fighting resulting in hundreds of Israel soldiers being killed. This development changes the entire war picture. The IDF has not just surrounded the enemy, it is inside its lair.

Heh.

Siam, Abu Shrak and Watfa... not bad for a day's work. Israel is cleaning up the garbage. Now is not the time to stop!

Khaled Meshaal has just screamed "Israel has totally lost it" by taking out Hamas bigwigs. Music to my ears.

Heh.

Thanks for that update, Carl. He thought the Israelis didn't view his brother as a "big fish" enough to get him. That assumption cost him his life and Hamas' hysterical reaction has made today a pleasure. One gets very few chances in life to watch the distress of the enemy. They should now be put down like the rabid beast they are.

"CAST LEAD" IS A NICE NAME, BUT I WANT TO SEE THE REAL THING, "CLEANING FOR PESACH!"
