The truth is Gaza was pretty much left to its own devices after Israel pulled out nearly four years ago. Its various rulers chose to attack Israel and they made their bed to lie down in. It was not Israel that forced them to shell her for years. That was entirely of their own doing and they have no grounds to complain when Israel is finally hitting back in self defense.
I thought Sharon's move out of Gaza was genius. I thought it would show the world the psychotic, anarchic nature of society under Palestinian control and that the world would understand why Israel could not permit a Palestinian land on its doorstep.
The world saw, alright. But the world doesn't care.
Well hell - neither should Israel. Israel should ban foreign reporters and conduct its business as needed.
I am an Orthodox Jew - some would even call me 'ultra-Orthodox.' Born in Boston, I was a corporate and securities attorney in New York City for seven years before making aliya to Israel in 1991 (I don't look it but I really am that old :-). I have been happily married to the same woman for thirty-five years, and we have eight children (bli ayin hara) ranging in age from 13 to 33 years and nine grandchildren. Four of our children are married! Before I started blogging I was a heavy contributor on a number of email lists and ran an email list called the Matzav from 2000-2004. Middx,
It was entirely predictable that the world would see and not care. That's the way it is when it comes to Jews.
