Delhi next?

The Deccan Mujahadein, the shadowy group that took responsibility for last week's carnage in Mumbai, has issued an email threatening to attack New Delhi next (Hat Tip: Puneet).
The Intelligence Bureau has also sounded a fresh alert to Delhi Police asking them to step up security at vital installations in the capital after an email, which police sources said was signed by the "Deccan Mujahideen", warned of a repeat of the Mumbai terror attack at Indira Gandhi International Airport and the three major railway stations.
The threat relates to bombs in three-wheeled vehicles in Mumbai, as well as the Bombay Stock Exchange and the New Delhi airport.
Intelligence Bureau officials who are studying the mail say that there is a specific mention of the BSE and Delhi airport in the mail. IB sources say that the BSE has always been on the target of terrorists, who want to attack India's economic might.

At least five terrorists arrested in connection with either the Delhi serial blasts or the attack on the CRPF camp at Rampur have confessed that extensive planning had taken place in Pakistan occupied Kashmir to strike at the BSE. The IB says that the initial plan was to strike both at the Taj and the BSE but there was a change in plan.

The terrorists realised that they needed to enter Mumbai by night as security was lax at that time and an operation in the BSE would not have been successful if they had struck it in the night as it would have been closed. If at all an attack has to take place on the BSE it would be during working hours, the IB says. Security agencies been put on high alert, the IB sources say.
Meanwhile the Israeli government will apparently respond positively to a request to provide security for Chabad Houses around the world.
In addition, unnamed sources told the Hebrew-language newspaper Ma'ariv that Israel will also act to prevent further attacks on Chabad Houses throughout the world as well.

Some of the security measures will include training and security instructions to members of the Chabad Chassidic movement. "It is not surprising that Chabad Houses have become a target for terrorist groups to kill Israeli citizens," commented the source.
Israel already provides security at many synagogues in Europe. I have met Israeli security officers at synagogues in Paris, Vienna and Madrid and I am sure that there are others. So this is really nothing unusual. Until now, however, Chabad apparently felt that it did not need this level of security. That all changed last week.

I'll just keep on repeating myself:

No Muslims, no terror.

Dear world, it's your choice.

All dead terrorists need to be stitched into pig skins and feed to wild dogs, sharks or crocs...

this needs to be filmed and uploaded to u tube..

time to fight the terrorists with WHAT scares them..

not with what scares us...

they are true believers..

USE that believe as if it were truth...

do not advocate mass killings...

do not advocate mass bombings...

kill the terrorists and deny them HEAVEN

trust me it will work..

they fear NOT going to heaven...

I am actually surprised that the Chabad hasn't been attacked more by theislamo-nazis. They are high profile and usually unguarded. To use a chess simile, Chabad houses are like a hanging pawn.

Daniel, even with security beefed up at Jewish sites (especially in Europe), do you think the police or guards at these sites have much of a chance against a military style attack, after their out-in-the-open positions, habits and schedules have been monitored for a few days?

Yes, there have been a handful of cases of a few brave souls who gave up their lives and successfully limited the scope of an attack but this will not prevent the problem.

Security guards may be able to help Chabad personnel escape with their lives in the event of a violent terrorist attack elsewhere. That would be good. But Chabad won't stop seeing people who need help and want to pray. That would giving the terrorists a victory they don't deserve. Its resolve to continue good work is needed now more than ever, precisely because of what happened in Mumbai. It will be a long and difficult struggle to ensure light and the presence of G-d appear in even the darkest and most forbidding places on earth.

Shy Guy, a religious organization is open and accessible. Chabad was never a target for such attacks and to change its entire approach because of what truly evil people did would impair its work. If there are those who want to slaughter good people, no law or ethics or earth can stop them, as we saw last week. But for all the good people in the world, the gates of Chabad will never be closed to them just as to the righteous, the gates of Heaven forever remain open.

Norman, I wasn't advocating Chabad close shop. I was disputing Daniel's claim that posting guards or police is a surefire solution to providing a reliable level of security.

The solution is in my first comment, at the top of this page.

I never said "that posting guards or police is a surefire solution to providing a reliable level of security." What i said was that i am surprised that the muslim dog shit didn't go after the Chabadniks more often

Who on earth could have anything against Holtzbergs? They were tortured and murdered only because they were Jews. That is why they were specifically sought out in a country were there are hardly any Jews to speak of. There is anti-Semitism even in places where a Jew has never lived.
