Weblog nominations now open

Nominations for the 2008 Weblog awards are now open. I was a finalist for a weblog award in 2007. I led in the early going and ended up finishing third to two Kossak progeny. With all of your help I'd like to win an award this year. Here are the details:

Nominations for The 2008 Weblog Awards are now open at http://2008.weblogawards.org/

The Weblog Awards are the largest blog competition in the world with over a million votes cast in the last two editions. Unlike other awards our nomination and voting process is open and real time. Anyone can nominate blogs (via comment) and every nomination is considered. Nearly 500 blogs will eventually be selected as finalist in the 49 categories. There are categories for blogs of all sizes and types.

This year we've added several new categories and we've switched the size based categories to use the Technorati Authority ranking. Nominations are via comments to the appropriate nomination posts. Nominations close November 19, 2008, and voting is scheduled to begin December 8, 2008.

Nomination posts can be accessed via the master nomination list: http://2008.weblogawards.org/nominations/

Hotlinkable site badges (and linking code) are available here: http://2008.weblogawards.org/2008/10/get-your-weblog-awards-logos.php

Please spread the word and make The 2008 Weblog Awards the biggest and most successful version yet!
Go out and vote!
