Uh oh - McCain employing terror supporters too?

Debbie Schlussel, who unlike me has to be offline for the first two days of Sukkot, has had her webmaster post an article in which she accuses the McCain campaign of employing two Muslim women who are terrorist consorts.
Mourad who worked for pro-Hezbollah/Arafat former U.S. Senator and Energy Secretary Abraham throughout his political career, is now Abraham's partner in lobbying on behalf of various Muslim and Arab nations seeking energy contracts with America. So much for John McCain's claim that he doesn't want lobbyists on his campaign.

Sources close to Abraham also say that Majida Mourad does not do anything without the tacit approval and involvement of Abraham--who sent $86 million of your tax money to Hezbollah in South Lebanon at the request of the Arab American Institute's Jim Zogby, who blocked federal tracking of alien visa holders entering America (also at Zogby's request), and who was one of two U.S. Senators who refused to sign a letter to Bill Clinton asking him to condemn Yasser Arafat at the height of homicide bombings in Israel in 1999 and 2000. Read the complete dossier on Spencer Abraham's pan-jihadist activities.

Last week, the Detroit Free Press disclosed that Abraham has been serving as a surrogate speaker to Michigan Arab voters on behalf of John McCain. Sources close to Abraham say that Abraham is heavily tied to and closely involved with the McCain campaign and that Mourad's involvement is proof of that. So much for John McCain's claim that we must fight the terrorists over there (Iraq) so we don't have to fight them over here. Now we know that the terrorists' Senator and Energy Secretary is squarely inside the McCain campaign.

...

Another one of Spencer Abraham's former top employees at the Department of Energy--with strong McCain campaign ties--is Randa Fahmy Hudome, a Muslim lawyer and anti-Israel lobbyist whom he hired to his Senate staff and then appointed to Associate Deputy Secretary of Energy. Ms. Fahmy, also now a lobbyist for Muslim and Arab nations, was tight with Yasser Arafat and famously posed with her daughter for a photo kissing Arafat on the cover of The Washington Times. Currently, a lobbyist for Libya, Fahmy brags on her bio that she was responsible for removing the country from the State Department Terrorist List.

Ms. Fahmy was also on the board of ANERA (American Near East Refugee Aid), a "charity" under investigation for allegedly financing HAMAS and other similar Palestinian groups. And she's been on the board of the pan-Islamist, anti-Israel Arab-American National Museum and the Muslim Women Lawyers for Human Rights. And she's a frequent Mid-East policy analyst on Al-Jazeera, the Terrorist News Network.
Read the whole thing.

I haven't found any reaction from the McCain campaign. Parts of this story were reported by Huffington Post back in May.
A stunning new report from UltimateJohnMcCain.com connects the dots between McCain and the terrorist Libyan regime of Muammar Gaddafi. According to the report, McCain's newest media adviser is Mike Hudome, who recently took over for Mark McKinnon when McKinnon decided he didn't want to run against Obama. Hudome is married to Randa Fahmy Hudome, a lobbyist who "began working for the Gaddafi government at a time when it was officially designated by the U.S. State Department as a state sponsor of terrorism."

During Bush's first term, Fahmy Hudome served as international policy adviser to then-Energy Secretary Spencer Abraham. In May of 2004, she became a member of the department's external advisory board and landed a sweet $1.47 million consulting agreement with the Libyan government to "strengthen Libyan interests." This conflict of interest only got uglier, as Fahmy Hudome became instrumental in drumming up Arab-American support for Bush's reelection bid.

Conveniently, Bush suspended most sanctions against Libya in April 2004, just before Fahmy Hudome's appointment to the Energy Department's advisory board. And the administration was then compelled to remove Fahmy Hudome in July of the following year, when families of Lockerbie bombing victims and government watchdog groups both cried foul. As UltimateJohnMcCain reminds us, the 1988 Libyan bombing of Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland (for which Libya claimed responsibility), killed 270 people was the largest terrorist attack on Americans prior to 9/11.
Here's a video of Fahmy Hudome shilling for Libya. Let's go to the videotape.

Abraham was originally part of Fred Thompson's campaign. Given that Obama is heavily favored in Abraham's (and Debbie Schlussel's) home state of Michigan, one has to wonder why McCain doesn't just dump Abraham altogether. And given that Obama has also had problems appointing Arab-American advisers, one also has to wonder whether there is anyone of positive political prominence in the Arab-American community today who does not have ties to terrorists, and if so, why can't the Presidential candidates find them?

Forget "political prominence" as a requirement for campaign hiring, there are plenty of extremely bright, top character Arab Americans, even ex-Muslims, not involved in government who because of their cultural, religious, and linguistic background, combined with their character, would be assets to campaign even though they have zero experience. This is more important than "political prominence."

Orde,

Yes, but you say they are 'ex-Muslims.' That wouldn't go over well in the Muslim community.
