US and Israel must 'give in to the will of the Iranian nation,' Bush has 'many satanic wishes'

In an interview with the Malaysian media in Kuala Lampur Monday, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad claimed that the United States and Israel 'would not dare' to attack Iran, and they must 'give in to the will of the Iranian nation' [to develop a nuclear capability]. Ahmadinejad also claimed that President Bush has 'many satanic wishes.' I guess some Democrats in Congress may agree with him on that last point.
The US and Israel would not dare attack Iran, said President Ahmadinejad of Iran in an interview to Malaysian media on Monday.

The Iranian president arrived in Kuala Lumpur earlier in the day to attend the sixth Summit of the Eight Islamic Developing Countries (D8) where he is expected to deliver a speech on Tuesday.

President Ahmadinejad made the remarks while responding a question on the US and Zionist regime's threats against Iran in an interview with the Malaysian official news agency (BERNAMA) and its state television.

The interview is expected to be broadcast on Monday night at Malaysia's local time.

"Not only the US and Israel, but a hundred others like them cannot attack Iran and they know it themselves," President Ahmadinejad stressed.

He added that US President George W. Bush "has had and still has many satanic and inhuman wishes including confrontation with Iran but none of his wishes have come true.

"They know the Iranian nation and are aware that they cannot talk to us with the language of force and threats. They must give in to the will of the Iranian nation."
But Martin Van Creveld - a well-known 'military historian' says that he believes that Israel can live with a nuclear Iran. By 'forgetting' all of Ahmadinejad's threats to wipe Israel off the map, Van Creveld, who is an Israeli, has managed to convince himself that the only reason Ahmadinejad is threatening us is because we have threatened him. Van Creveld claims that the damage Israel inflicts on Iran will be minimal compared with the damage Iran will inflict on the world if Israel attacks it. He believes that the Gulf states will be the principle parties hurt by an Iranian counterattack. Let's go to the videotape.

Van Creveld needs to start listening up. Ahmadinejad wants his nukes for a reason. And it's not just a matter of pride.

Martin Van Creveld is an idiot. A lot of high level Israel officials don't want to rock the boat. If that's the case, Israel will face a far more serious problem (G-d forbid) than Iran going to nuclear. That is the very will of Israel to ensure its own survival will be called into question. If Israel is not willing to stop with force a supreme existential threat to its existence, then what kind of aggression can her would the Jewish State be willing to countenance? Carl - you're right that Iran is not seeking the nuclear bomb for mere reasons of national prestige. When it comes to dealing with it, Ahmedinejad has thrown the gauntlet down at Israel squarely: give in or fight back. There's no third option.

Van Creveld wrote a book "The Sword and Olive", a highly critical look at the IDF, which discounted many of its accomplishments. While I think some of the criticism was well put if not actually well meant, it was an otherwise one-sided portrait of the IDF tinged with anti-settler sentiment.
