About Me
- Name: Carl in Jerusalem
- Location: Jerusalem, Israel
I am an Orthodox Jew - some would even call me 'ultra-Orthodox.' Born in Boston, I was a corporate and securities attorney in New York City for seven years before making aliya to Israel in 1991 (I don't look it but I really am that old :-). I have been happily married to the same woman for thirty-five years, and we have eight children (bli ayin hara) ranging in age from 13 to 33 years and nine grandchildren. Four of our children are married! Before I started blogging I was a heavy contributor on a number of email lists and ran an email list called the Matzav from 2000-2004. You can contact me at: IsraelMatzav at gmail dot com

In one sense, it is the same as all of my kids' kindergarten graduations.
For heaven's sake, teachers! Can't you change the dances and the music from one year to the next?! Why do we parents have to see the same ol' thing over and over again?!
Having seen it, its obvious they raise their children from a very early age with the outlook that violence is the preferred method of settling all problems. No Western parents raise their children in this manner. How can you have a peace with a society that is reared to love death? Its a good question.
I like the cabbage patch kid.
I don't know. There are neighborhoods in the US where carrying a rifle is normal.
Just wondering how did they get those 5 year olds to dance for 7 minutes straight.
Tragic! Where is the innocence that should be childhood? Look carefully, we are looking at the faces of our future enemies. God be with us all!
