Israel hits a senior Islamic Jihad commander in Shchem (Nablus)

Tariq Abu Ra'ali, a senior commander of Islamic Jihad and another gunman belonging to the group, were killed on Tuesday morning in the West Bank city of Nablus. IDF and Shin Bet forces had entered the city in attempt to arrest Abu Ra'ali, but the Islamic Jihad leader barricaded himself in his apartment with another gunman and opened fire on the Israeli troops. The IDF therefore moved in on the two gunmen and killed them in the ensuing exchange of fire. A sweep of the apartment after the operation revealed several explosives devices, an AK-47 assault rifle, ammunition and other military equipment. No casualties were reported among the Israeli forces. On the eve of the ceasefire in Gaza, the Islamic Jihad announced that any operation against its ranks in the West Bank would result in a decisive response from their forces in the Gaza Strip.

Let's go to the videotape and I'll have a comment afterward.

Under the terms of the Gaza 'truce,' Israel only agreed to it being extended to Judea and Samaria at a much later stage. In the meantime, Israel can continue to operate in Judea and Samaria and the terrorists should have no complaint about it. Besides, the terrorists themselves violated the 'truce' Monday night. Let's hope that all such violations are repaid in this way.

I hope so, too. There's no cease-fire with terrorists since they will never keep their word. One doesn't negotiate with evil-doers. One mercilessly wipes them out to spare the innocent and show respect to Heaven. And there's need of more of the latter in Israel.
