About Me
- Name: Carl in Jerusalem
- Location: Jerusalem, Israel
I am an Orthodox Jew - some would even call me 'ultra-Orthodox.' Born in Boston, I was a corporate and securities attorney in New York City for seven years before making aliya to Israel in 1991 (I don't look it but I really am that old :-). I have been happily married to the same woman for thirty-five years, and we have eight children (bli ayin hara) ranging in age from 13 to 33 years and nine grandchildren. Four of our children are married! Before I started blogging I was a heavy contributor on a number of email lists and ran an email list called the Matzav from 2000-2004. You can contact me at: IsraelMatzav at gmail dot com

hi Carl,
Caroline Glick got it right in her piece today, How Lebanon was Lost.
Barry Rubin also got it right Lebanon to West: Wake Up Fast!
And Debbie Schlussel tells us that Iranian Revolutionary Guards have been caught fighting for Hizbollah.
What does this tell us about the world leaders> They're all politically correct, appeasing schmucks of the first degree. If something's not done about the situation in Lebanon soon (and I think the US should step in), the fight will spill over into Israel, because right now Iran and Syria are on the doorstep.
No one wants to deal with Lebanon. Its a tangle of religious and ethnic clans have been warring for decades. Half a century ago, Lebanon was the only Arab country with a Christian majority. That's now gone and even the majority Muslims are at loggerheads over which of them get to rule the country.
