About Me
- Name: Carl in Jerusalem
- Location: Jerusalem, Israel
I am an Orthodox Jew - some would even call me 'ultra-Orthodox.' Born in Boston, I was a corporate and securities attorney in New York City for seven years before making aliya to Israel in 1991 (I don't look it but I really am that old :-). I have been happily married to the same woman for thirty-five years, and we have eight children (bli ayin hara) ranging in age from 13 to 33 years and nine grandchildren. Four of our children are married! Before I started blogging I was a heavy contributor on a number of email lists and ran an email list called the Matzav from 2000-2004. You can contact me at: IsraelMatzav at gmail dot com

I hope that a stepping up of targeted attacks on Hamas leadership in conjunction with even more air and ground attacks will have some effect especialy if carried out for more than a week or two.I'm not sure that Israel could launch a massive ground offensive as your govt seems too afraid of world opinion...I'm at a loss as to what is best.
Another alternative is to cut off all economic traffic into and out of Gaza. That includes water, electricity, food, medicine. Cut it off, don't demand anything. Just stop helping them live.
Carl, unless and until Israel decides to finally, completely, indisputably win this war and dictate terms to the 'palis', Israel is going to continue to fight this war in perpetuity.
It really is that simple.
Kranky,
I agree with you. See the article I posted about Dichter a few minutes ago.

I agree with Kranky. Jews have a phobia about winning today. I understand the Gentile fear of Jewish power but I don't get why Jews have to internalize it to the extent they think its not in their own interests to win a war.
