'Palestinians' furious over suicide bomber shooting
This is special. The 'Palestinians' are furious over the shooting of the second Dimona suicide bomber by an Israeli cop on Monday. In fact, they think it was inhumane. That first link is in Hebrew, but I'm going to translate it for you (Hat Tip: Killgore Trout via Little Green Footballs):
Pictures of the Dimona terrorist who was shot while he was still alive are causing anger in the Palestinian media. The shooter: "He tried to activate the bomb."I'm with Superintendent Mor. Shoot now, ask questions later. As to the 'Palestinian,' anyone who puts on a bomb belt is fair game and should be shot on sight. Their accusations are beyond absurd. But he looks a lot younger than the 20-years old they said he was, doesn't he?
"A scandal." That's how the Palestinians characterize the pictures in which policeman Kobi Mor is seen shooting a terrorist who is still alive in Dimona, minutes after his colleague blew himself up in a commercial center in the city.
The Maan News Agency reported tonight (Monday) that "The Israeli television stations broadcast pictures a number of times showing the Palestinian lying wounded on the sidewalk and an Israeli in civilian clothes shooting him after he raised his hand."
They claim that the pictures show a "human scandal. He was shot while he was wounded and seeking help, without verifying that he was one of the people carrying out the attack."
On the other hand, Mor himself had no doubt regarding the wounded man's identity and intentions. "I saw the terrorist and saw he was alive," he told. "He moved his hand and I shot at him. After the shot his hand was still moving, it looked like he tried to trigger the bomb that was on him. I took cover and and shot him in the head several more times."
In Israel, as compared to the Palestinians, the event was seen positively. Mor received praise for his actions today from the Prime Minister and the Defense Minister. Similarly, the police force's general commander, Commissioner Dudi Cohen, gave notice that his rank will be raised to Superintendent and he will receive a mark of praise.

The Israeli peace processors haven't apologized yet?
Hardly surprising. The palestinians "own" Chutzpah.
By the way, Carl, the picture you included in this post is of Luay Laghwani, one of the men Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades claimed was one of the bombers. However, since their claim, it has been confirmed that he was not one of the bombers; in fact the bombers were Hamas terrorists.

I'm surprised the Israeli Left hasn't demanded Kobi Mor's head. He did the right thing instinctively, which is rare in Israel these days. The government as a rule prefers to cover its ass and do as little as possible. That's what makes Mor's action so outstanding. Israel wouldn't be in as much trouble if her leaders were more like that cop.
NormanF,
Not that rare. The staff in Kfar Etzion two weeks ago did the right thing and killed the terrorists too.
I say that the Israeli population in general is much better aware of the situation and what are our options than the current government.
Carl - you make a good point. Israel's leaders may want to avoid dealing with reality but as I wrote elsewhere, Israelis don't have that luxury.
They have to fight back because the alternative is certain death. The people in the country are doing what their own government isn't - fight to keep Israel around.
